Founded in 2004, the Institute of Molecular Medicine, Peking University (IMM PKU), is dedicated to understanding the molecular basis of major human diseases and translating fundamental discoveries into innovative biomedical solutions. With a particular focus on cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, aging-related diseases, and other chronic conditions, IMM PKU integrates basic biology, disease modeling, preclinical research, and translational medicine within a continuum from molecules to models and humans.

The Institute comprises 18 laboratories and research centers, supported by five major shared technology platforms, including the internationally recognized Non-human Primate Research Center. IMM PKU has also established state-of-the-art capabilities in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, imaging, and multi-omics analysis, enabling systematic interrogation of disease mechanisms, aging processes, and therapeutic responses. Building on its scientific excellence and institutional strengths, Peking University has further established the Nanjing Institute of Molecular Medicine.

Looking to the future, IMM PKU will continue to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, collaborative innovation, and technology-driven biomedical research.
